Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

It Happened: The Leaking Supply Line

Recently, Vice President and Co-Owner of SERVPRO of Hamblen County Kristina Greenway met up with a commercial customer Michael Bunch who was willing to share his testimony of the rapid response that our team provided in a crisis. After a supply line sprung a leak in one of their buildings, sixteen offices of the tenant CJ Designs were impacted by intruding water. The spread of this situation was overwhelming and far beyond the scope of DIY cleanup and restoration.

Admittedly Bunch Development was apprehensive and unprepared to secure professional restoration services. Since he had already met and interacted with one of the friendly staff of our team, Account Manager Caleb Porter, it was an easier decision to make. Positive relationships like these are a focal point of our outreach to our local businesses and residents.

Within the hour, Caleb was able to arrive at the scene and began evaluating the property's needs and how to mitigate losses. Our initial inspection is one of the most vital data gathering processes for the team and becomes instrumental in detailed estimations and custom restoration plans for homes and businesses. The team determined that several actions would be needed to make this disaster "Like it never even happened." These included:

  • Removing baseboards
  • Drilling weep holes
  • Drying out carpeting and subflooring
  • Cleaning and relocating contents

The full team worked on the problem within hours of the first notice of loss, which made CJ Designs and Bunch Development feel better about the stressful situation. While it was estimated that the restoration would take 4-5 days, the team recognized the urgency to get the offices operational again and had the project completed a full day ahead of schedule.

As Kristina Greenway comments, SERVPRO of Hamblen County is 'proud to be able to be there for you in your time of need.' When disasters strike, we are the team you can trust to call with our fast response and experienced restorers. We are ready 24/7 at (423) 318-6733.
